Emily Kirkland is a Clinical Director at Gavia LifeCare Center, with a specialty focus in Women and LGBTQ+ populations. Emily has worked for over 13 years in the therapy field with extensive experience with people in the LGBTQIA+ community as well as individuals with addictions; she is a Master level Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor. Emily has worked with individuals, couples, and families in many demographics including older adults, incarcerated individuals, individuals in alternative relationship structures, and individuals experiencing symptoms related to trauma, mental health, family dynamics, and other life struggles.
Emily remains person-centered in her approach, allowing the individual to drive their treatment while she brings knowledge of many different therapy modalities to practice. Having completed her educational background in Art Therapy, she believes that there is benefit to all forms of therapy, outside of the traditional and looks forward to developing a therapeutic relationship based on your unique needs. She is committed to and passionate about encouraging growth through an environment that is reliably safe and compassionate.
