Gloria’s Schou is a cat lover, yoga practitioner, and Harry Potter enthusiast. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who graduated from The College at Brockport in 2020. She is passionate about working with children and families and has an abundance of experience over several years, doing just that. She has interned and worked in three different schools from elementary to high school, working with all ages. Gloria previously worked as a residential clinician for children with developmental disabilities for two years. She uses a humanistic approach, and therapy emphasizes a person’s inherent need for unconditional positive regard. Gloria recognizes the importance of building resiliency when facing the very real challenges of life. Gloria is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Gloria emphasizes that healing is a journey and that anyone who has experienced pain is entitled to that journey.
