Marcy McClain, MS, ATR, CASAC II is a primary therapist at Gavia LifeCare Center. She has a master’s degree in art therapy from Nazareth College. She is a registered art therapist (ATR) and is working toward licensure as a creative arts therapist (LCAT). She is also a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC II). She has been working in an outpatient setting in the substance abuse field for 16 years with individuals with both substance use disorder as well as mental health concerns. As a substance use counselor she has utilized an eclectic person-centered approach to therapy with strong leanings toward motivational interviewing, and CBT. Additionally, she often includes aspects of existential psychology in her work. She has worked with family members, teens/young adults, and adults over her time as a practitioner in the field. She strives to create an environment of safety, dignity, and respect in all aspects of care.
