Yezenia (Jess) Hussey, is a Mental Health Counselor with a master’s degree from SUNY Brockport. Jess uses she/her pronouns. Prior to coming to Gavia, she worked at a community-based clinic serving primarily adolescents and young adults. She works to provide a caring, safe, and unconditionally accepting environment where everyone feels welcomed to explore, identify, and tackle any issues that may be getting in the way of a more rewarding life or fulfilling relationships. She has helped people successfully address a wide variety of concerns related to home and family, work and career, student-athlete balance, depression, anxiety, stress management, LGBTQIA+, women’s and self-esteem issues. Her work brings in aspects of CBT, DBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and overall mindfulness.

Outside of work, Jess loves crafting, reading, spending time with her dogs, and traveling. She is a passionate advocate with a core foundation in social-justice and values the individualistic journey of healing.
